Narendra Modi is a prominent Indian politician and the current Prime Minister of India. He was born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, a small town in the Mehsana district of the Indian state of Gujarat. Modi joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a right-wing Hindu nationalist organization, at a young age and became an active member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a political party with which the RSS is affiliated.
